Keep the Gym Near Even When Winter is Here

It’s getting chilly out there folks, and with the cold comes colds. Make sure you boost your immune system with your workouts in the winter. Here are reasons why you must get your winter workout in and tips to bring with you.

  1. Make sure you WARM up
  • The fastest way to ruin your day and going forward is coming into the gym cold and injuring yourself by not warming up
  1. Hydrate
  • When we are cold, we tend to avoid drinking things like water and other health drinks to keep us hydrated, but staying hydrated is one of the keys to a great workout and a healthy lifestyle
  1. Make sure you stay dry and stay out of the cold after your workout
  • If you are not planning to head home and shower and change after you work out, make sure you have a towel and change of clothes
  1. Exercise is a proven way to improve your mood
  • We know that after exercise, the brain releases the “feel-good” chemicals serotonin and dopamine. This can help to reduce anxiety and depression
  1. Thanksgiving and Christmas parties come with a price (calories)
  • Greens, beans, potatoes, tomatoes, you name it… Make sure your countering all these delicious foods with some exercise
