The plans have been made and the bags are packed. You just worked out like a maniac for months to get that beach body to show off while you are away from work and all of life’s worries. However, do not leave all the hard work you have put in at the beach. I get it, you are on vacation and exercise is the last word or though on your mind. I’m not talking about a full-blown workout but taking the time to stretch will go a long way.

So, you are down the beach; no need to wake up early but why not start your day off with a glass of water. Now that we are heading in the right direction, let’s keep this going. No need to head down to the gym at your hotel or seek out a gym close by. All you need is a little bit of space and a positive attitude… and maybe a Pedialyte but that’s discussion for you and you from last night.

Let’s keep it simple. You are already doing the right thing by taking the time to stick to your regimen and get a workout in. When I say the word workout, that does not mean a full-blown weight workout and mile run. A vacation workout could be as simple as taking 15-20 minutes just to stretch. Stretching before any workout is half of the battle and stretching after travel is a great way to avoid injury and just feel loose while you are enjoying your time away.

If you are struggling to find stretches or exercises, just start up with some simple arm circles, toe touches, neck rolls, and calf raises. If you are looking for more, you can always throw in some push-ups, dips (using a chair or bedside), and/or ab exercises. Most importantly, do not rush through this process. Just take your time and know your body. If you are struggle through the work out and feel uneasy no worries. Stretching later before bed is beneficial as well. Overall, enjoy our vacation but please take the time to just stretch and stay hydrated. You will thank your future self for taking some time to make sure you took care of yourself even while you were away.
