Yes, a goal of the challenge is to lose weight; however, the main goal is to propel yourself toward the healthiest version of you. Not all weight loss is healthy weight loss. Fatigue, stress, and other negative things will find their way into your journey but starving yourself just to lose weight is not the answer either. Weight loss is a physical journey; however, it is mostly a daily mental journey as you find yourself testing your self-control and will power. To help you, here are 5 steps and tips for weight loss. Consuming water and other non-sugar-based drinks fuels your body and activates your brain. Additionally, it improves digestion and other functions that allow you to lose weight.
- Eat before you are hungry, stop eating before you are full
Often, overeating happens by accident more than on purpose. It takes a little bit of time for your brain to signal to your stomach that it is full. Make sure you take breaks and take it slow when you are eating.
- Exercise daily; even if it’s just yoga and stretching
This helps your body and mind get into a routine. A “rest day” from the gym can still be productive if you just take some time to stretch out and meditate.
- Get on a regulated sleep schedule
A vast majority of the weight loss occurs in the late hours of the night and the early morning. Additionally, when you are well rested, your entire day will flow better, and your level of productivity will rise.
- Create structure in your work and personal life
Your body and mind will get on a schedule and a healthy lifestyle will become second nature. Once you get into a routine and you realize the benefits of this healthy and productive lifestyle, you are more likely to stay on track.
